CLASSIC CARS, PRESTIGE CARS, PERFORMANCE CARS, AND MORE

TV STAR CARS

Just like the movie star carss of the silver screen, there was a lot of TV shows with car stars too! Of course, many of these did become movie star cars, when the TV shows were adapted to cinema screens. Lets take a look through some of the most popular and unforgettable tv show star cars, with plenty to choose from, these are the ones that immediately came to mind!

KITT – 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Show: Knight Rider (1982–1986)
David Hasselhoff’s talking, AI-powered car with red scanner lights and turbo boosts. Way ahead of its time.

The A-Team Van – 1983 GMC Vandura
Show: The A-Team (1983–1987)
Black with a red stripe, this van was tougher than nails and always full of gadgets, explosives, and Mr. T.

General Lee – 1969 Dodge Charger
Show: The Dukes of Hazzard (1979–1985)
Bright orange, with a Confederate flag on the roof (controversial today), this Charger was famous for high-flying jumps and V8 howls.

The Batmobile – 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept
Show: Batman (1966–1968)
George Barris turned this concept car into the ultimate crimefighting ride. Jet-powered and unmistakably cool.

Starsky & Hutch’s Car – 1975 Ford Gran Torino
Show: Starsky & Hutch (1975–1979)
That red paint and giant white stripe made it a star in its own right. Squealing tires in every episode.

The Monkeemobile – 1966 Pontiac GTO Custom
Show: The Monkees (1966–1968)
A wild surf-wagon style custom with exaggerated lines, perfect for the zany pop band sitcom.

The Munsters’ Koach – Custom Hot Rod Hearse
Show: The Munsters (1964–1966)
Half dragster, half haunted mansion. Totally gothic and ghoulishly fun.

The Black Beauty – 1966 Chrysler Imperial
Show: The Green Hornet (1966–1967)
Driven by Bruce Lee’s character Kato, this car had rockets, machine guns, and just the right amount of menace.

Coyote X – Custom McLaren M6GT replica
Show: Hardcastle and McCormick (1983–1986)
A wedge-shaped, low-slung mystery car with serious ‘80s style. The ultimate “cool outlaw” vibe.

10.

Magnum’s Ferrari – 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi
Show: Magnum, P.I. (1980–1988)
Tom Selleck + a Hawaiian shirt + a red Ferrari = pure television gold.
